About Meg-Fay Makes

Welcome to my blog.

My name is Meggie-Fay Furminger.

I am 27 and currently live in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, with my partner Aden and my pets, Katie Purry and Rosie. 

I am a creative free spirit with a passion for animals, nature, fashion, food, pop-culture and travel.

In April 2016, I created my business @megfaymakes. Creating handmade one-of-a-kind festival mermaid and flower crowns, using vintage or up-cycled materials. I had such an amazing response to my crowns, and even found myself with Meg-Fay Makes 'fans' of sorts. For me, this was a way to express my creativity and connect with people in my community. 

I met and learnt from some truely inspirational women and small business owners in Geelong, and was given both amazing opportunities and life long memories. 

In 2017, I want to broaden my horizons and not pigeon hole myself to one category. I will still be making my crowns but I have so many ideas to share, from affordable fashion ideas, DIY craft projects, connecting with other creatives, work/life balance, pop-culture and everything else that pops into this glorious mind of mine. 

The hardest thing for me, was just writing this page. Taking a chance and believing in myself enough to press Publish. 

So, if you have made it this far. Thank you. I am no professional writer, and I am actually a really terrible speller (so prepare for mistakes) but I want to share my life, my experiences and my ideas with you all.
